Rio de Janeiro — World Cup 2014 in Brazil ended in a nightmare for Cristiano
Ronaldo, one of the best soccer players in the world. In Brasilia, the capital city of Brazil, Ronaldo scored the winning goal for his team against Ghana (2-1), but on goal difference the
Portuguese soccer teamis out of the World Cup.
Jesus Cristiano Superstar: Ronaldo in despair...
All in all the 29-year-old Ronaldo, star striker of Real Madrid, played a very poor tournament. Against Germany, the Real Madrid superstar was invisible, but Ronaldo had a knee injury.
Nevertheless, after a brilliant cross from Ronaldo Portugal grabbed a point against the United States in the last minute: 2-2.
Portugal was the better team against
Ghana. Ultimately, this was reflected in the score. The poor John Boye kicked the ball into his own goal in a bizarre way.
Before that moment, Ronaldo had to have opened the score already. First landed a failed cross of his at the crossbar of the Ghanaian goal. Furthermore, after twenty minutes of play, Ronaldo missed a not to be missed header.
After half-time Ghana tied the score. Asamoah Gyan headed the ball in the Portuguese cage. The assist of Kwadwo Asamoah, a flick kick with his left foot, was of great beauty.
However, Fatau Dauda ruined the World Cup for the Africans. Ronaldo scored his first goal of the tournament after a comical blunder of the goalie of Ghana. However, Portugal was three goals short of a place in the second round: unfortunately, Ronaldo and his Portuguese soccer colleagues already have to fly home. As well as Ghana, that would have been through with a win.
