Lollapalooza Brasil 2014 - Alternative Music festival Sao Paulo
On 5 and 6 April 2014, Sao Paulo is the global center of the alternative music community: the largest city of Brazil is host of the
Interlagos racing circuit, famous for the annual Formula One Grand Prix of Brasil, is turned into a large festival arena where music fans from all over Brazil gather for some fine tunes.

The festival offers various '
alternative' acts of many music styles like heavy metal, alternative rock, punk, hip-hop and electronic music.
Lollapalooza also has many other cultural draws like comedy and dance performances and craft booths. Lollapalooza also provides a platform for political groups.
Grant Park in Chicago, but it started as a travelling festival in the US and Canada. In 2010, for the first time the Lollapalooza festival set foot on South American soil in Santiago de Chile.
Two years later, the South American branch was organized in Sao Paulo in Brazil for the first time. Back then in 2012, the Sao Paulo Jockey Club was the festival arena as well as in 2013.
|Lollapalooza gained more popularity in Brazil, so the music event moved this year to the huge Interlagos race track in the southern part of Sao Paulo.
Many Brazilians consider the Lollapalooza festival as an important competitor of Rock in Rio, the largest music festival in the world. Rock in Rio has its roots in Brazil and became an international festival franchise itself in recent years.
